Yin Yang Heart Cards (Free Cut File!)

Remember back in elementary school when you would hand out Valentine's cards? Sometimes you'd even spend time in class making custom mailboxes so the other kids would know where to leave their special notes for you. Those fond memories are still etched in my mind (don't ask me what an adverb is though, that part of school didn't stick with me). I still try to send Valentine's cards out each year, sometimes they're elaborate and super punny specific to the person, and other years they are just a special note letting people know I'm thinking about them.

Today we have created a cut file for Cricut or Cameo (or printable you can hand cut if you don't have a cutting machine) for you to make some super quick and easy cards that are oh-so-sweet to send out to let someone special know you are thinking about them.

(*Because Cricut is transitioning their Design Space, sharing files is wonky, so please shoot us an email for your free cut file!!)

See!? Super cutesy, right?!

Material list is pretty simple:

- (1) 8.5x11" sheet of white cardstock (we used 80lb cardstock)

- (1) 6"x6" piece of pretty colored or patterned cardstock (or scrap piece 4.5"x5.5" - we used the scrap pieces from our Thank You cards from The Paper Studio's 'Tickle and Tweet')

- Glue - I used PH Neutral Glue on some + an Elmer's X-Treme Glue Stick on some

- Cutting machine such as Cricut or Cameo (or Scissors + X-Acto Blade)

Cricut instructions:

1. Import the cut file to design space and cut the white mat out of the 8.5x11" cardstock (the little hearts on the sides of the card base are just extra flare to stash in your card like confetti).

2. Cut the "red mat" out of your colored/patterned cardstock and remove from your cutting mat.

3. Fold along the score marks

4. Lay out your pieces so the patterned/colored paper is on the side that doesn't have the heart cut out.

5. Glue the colored/patterned paper to the white base, and that's it!

To fold the card, lay the colored/patterned paper side down first and slide the white side underneath to "lock it" together.

There you have it! Some super easy, beautiful Yin-Yang Heart cards! Let us know in the comments if you made your own cards or tag us on instagram @our.creative.nest #naturallycreative

By hand instructions:

1. Grab the file below and print it out on your 8.5x11" cardstock. Cut the pieces out (this will make two cards)

2. You can use the heart outline (on the right side with the little heart in it) to trace onto your patterned/colored paper to match the cut out (Make a mark where the dotted line is and use a ruler as a guide to draw a line to the edge of the heart).

3. Score along the dotted lines so it will be easier to fold.

4. Lay out your pieces so the patterned/colored paper is on the side that doesn't have the heart cut out.

5. Glue the colored/patterned paper to the white base, and that's it!

To fold the card, lay the colored/patterned paper side down first and slide the white side underneath to "lock it" together.

That's all there is to it! Some super easy, beautiful Yin-Yang Heart cards!

We hope you enjoy this card as much as we do! It's always nice to send (and receive) happy snail mail. Let us know in the comments if you made your own cards or tag us on instagram @our.creative.nest #naturallycreative
