Tip Tuesday - Eucalyptus Oil Showermist

For the month of April we chose Eucalyptus as our essential oil to highlight for our Oil of the Month! It's an incredible plant. Eucalyptus oil is a natural decongestant, cough suppressant and has antimicrobial properties, as well as keeps bugs away... and to top it all off, it's a breath freshener too! Needless to say, we love the stuff.

Today, we'd like to share a tip involving Eucalyptus. Ashley discovered this amazing Eucalyptus oil showermist that has both our households breathing a little easier. The steam from the hot shower combined with the vapor of Eucalyptus makes all the difference, calming the mucous membranes and allowing you to take a nice, deep breath.

Let's face it, allergies are never fun, and in times of stress or uncertainty, the last thing you need to add to the list of problems you're thinking about is not breathing well. A nice hot shower with this Eucalyptus spray works wonders.

Respiratory conditions such as asthma and sinusitis may also be helped by inhaling steam with added eucalyptus oil. The oil reacts with mucous membranes, not only reducing mucus but helping loosen it so that you can cough it up, and expel it from your system. Using a rub containing eucalyptus oil will produce the same effect (think Vicks VapoRub).

It's important to note some individuals are allergic to Eucalyptus, so if you are allergic to the stuff, we don't suggest using it. If you aren't allergic, well then be ready to breath a little easier. Just start the shower, let the water get hot and spray above the shower head to release the oil into the steam.
